Rocklea to Darra: BIM Management with 12d Synergy
Session Overview
With over 80,000 vehicles a day and an extremely narrow design corridor, the Ipswich Motorway Upgrade Project: Rocklea to Darra – Stage 1, was always going to be a challenge. But the BG&E and Cardno Design Joint Venture (DJV) were further tasked with delivering the first design and construct project to fully integrate and manage Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Queensland, Australia – and do so on a demanding deadline. In this session, Stuart Cook of BG&E describes how they were able to overcome these challenges, deliver a detailed BIM design, and fundamentally change the way they collaborate with 12d Synergy’s Common Data Environment.

About the Presenters
Stuart Cook leads BG&E’s Queensland Transport team, specialising in Design Management on projects valued up to $200M, including the first project to fully integrate BIM in Queensland, Australia. He has extensive experience as the interface between Road Authorities and Construction Contractors on major design and construct projects, and serves as Deputy Chair for Roads Australia.
